Welcome to City Photos and Books, Inc. My goal is to capture your special day, significant event or just a moment in time and create beautiful images. I am based in the Birmingham, Michigan area, and I serve Metro Detroit and beyond.




About Me



I knew that photography was an integral part of “me” when I first worked as a photojournalist over 20 years ago. I covered NFL football games, concerts, political appearances, and everyday news. I have also published a family history book and eight books of photography.



My primary photographic work now focuses on people. I truly enjoy the process of preserving special times, events, and milestones in photographs. This business also gives me a chance to get to know people and what they are passionate about. I want their true personalities to show in the photographs that I take.



When I was researching my family history, I gained an awareness of the value of preserving quality photographs. I was fortunate that family members had taken the time to have photographs made and that they had been cared for properly over time.




The process of preserving memories begins by contacting a photographer. It is important to choose someone that is passionate about the work and that uses photo labs that care about quality. The results can be appreciated now and for generations to come.



My Approach


Capturing people being themselves is what my work is all about. Yes, there are always opportunities to pose and create more formal images, but I can see the true personality of my clients when they are relaxed and comfortable with me.




Taking the time to connect with people is a great investment in the final photographic product.
